No trip to the Disneyland Resort in California should be considered complete without seeing World of Color, the breathtaking evening spectacular that takes place nightly at Disney's California Adventure. Thrill as graceful jets of water shoot into the air, lasers electrify the night and perfectly timed pyrotechnics explode in a blaze of brilliant color. Watch in wonder as water, fire, light and music weave together to celebrate the magic of Disney storytelling.
This captivating show sweeps across the water, lighting up Paradise Gardens Park and igniting all your senses. It's the perfect way to end a perfect day at the Parks.
While the roped-off, reserved viewing areas offer the best vantage point to fully experience World of Color (it's standing room only, FYI), not everyone can secure a reservation or budget for the World of Color Dinner Package or World of Color Dessert Party, both of which come with a voucher to the special viewing areas.
However, there is another way to secure your spot to this killer production. In order to get a good vantage point, you can join the Virtual Queue. While you can still try to get a good viewing spot around Paradise Bay on a first-come-fist-served basis, the Virtual Queue (VC) is the way to go, IMO.
The VC passes are available at NOON on the day of the show and you must have scanned into either theme park already to get them. Now for the trick to secure your passes...
Make sure that everyone in your party has their park tickets linked to your Disneyland account.
You'll want to have an additional device that shows seconds, like a digital or Apple Watch, so you can log in at precisely the right time.
If you have a sluggish mobile device, shut down all other apps. Sometimes using data rather than the park's WiFi will get you connected faster.
A few minutes before the VC opens, click on the menu in the app and find the Virtual Queue selection.
Click "join a Virtual Queue', and select California Adventure as your park.
At 11:59:59 pull down on your screen to refresh it. You may have to do this more than once until you see a button pop appear. DON'T STOP TO READ - JUST PUSH THE BUTTON! DO THE SAME ON THE NEXT PAGE. (If you stop to read, you may miss out on getting pass because you've wasted valuable time.)
If your party is properly linked and you have more than one person trying to join the Virtual Queue (which we recommend), once one person gets it, all others attempting to join should receive an Error message.
That's the trick in a nutshell! We want you to get the most aspkossible out of your park day and World Of Color is not to be missed.
